S.K. Iyengar’s 86-year old mother was suffering from (a) Diabetes Millitus, (b) Hypertension (c) Semi-Dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease.  She fell from the bed on 27.09.1997 and suffered a fracture on thighbone which required a surgical treatment.  The risks involved in the surgery were explained to S.K.
